Apprenticeship CARE: Consent Awareness and Respect for Everyone 2026
This report describes an innovative collaboration between the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Department (Apprenticeship Supports) at Waterford Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB) and the Active* Consent programme based at the University of Galway.
This collaboration has created, for the first time, an insight on how apprentices view subjects related to consent, sexual violence and harassment, including the views of apprentices on prevention of violence and how to respond when it occurs. Building from a survey of 730 apprentices that was carried out by Apprenticeship Supports, the Active* Consent team have created this report on the results of the survey, working subsequently with apprentices themselves and Apprenticeship Supports staff to cocreate new learning resources that respond to the findings.
